Cheap Flights to Port Elizabeth

Port Elizabeth, also known as Madiba Bay, is situated in the Eastern Cape Province. The city is also known locally as “The Friendly City” and “The Windy City” for obvious reasons.

Known as the “ten minute airport”, the Port Elizabeth Airport is located less than a 10 minutes’ drive from the city and serves a number of domestic airlines. The airport does not service any international flights, but offers quality facilities and amenities in their departure and arrival terminals to fulfil the needs of international travellers connecting to Port Elizabeth from other cities.

Passengers flying from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport to Port Elizabeth have a choice between low-cost flights offered by 1Time Airlines and Kulula Airlines.
Both Kulula.com and 1Time Airlines offer cheap flights daily between these destinations, however, they only offer on flight per day between Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth.
These flights operate on a limited schedule due to the lack of demand and passengers requiring specific flight times will need to make use of the alternative airlines operating on this route. British Airways and South African Airways offer a number of daily flights from Johannesburg in business or economy class to Port Elizabeth.

1Time Airlines are the only low cost airline that offers cheap flights between Cape Town International Airport and Port Elizabeth airport. There is only one scheduled flight per day between these destinations and no flights available on Saturdays. Passengers requiring specific departure times or flights on Saturdays will need to make use of flights offered by alternative airlines such as South African Express and British Airways.

Passengers flying from Durban to Port Elizabeth have a choice of only two airlines operating on this route, none of which are budget airlines offering cheap flights to Port Elizabeth. Passengers do, however, have the option of economy class or business class from South African Express and British Airways. There are between four and seven flights per day offered by these airlines between PE and Durban with the average flight duration being 1hr 22 minutes.

There are no budget airlines offering flights between Port Elizabeth and the smaller destination airports such as Bloemfontein and East London. However, passengers can avail themselves of flights available from South African Airways to both Bloemfontein and East London. South African Airways offer two flights per week between Bloemfontein and Port Elizabeth only, and two flights per day between East London and Port Elizabeth.

Passengers wishing to fly between Port Elizabeth and the smaller airports such as George or Kimberly will need to make use of connecting flights from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport offered by South African Airways.
